Why families choose A Happy Home

Our nursing leadership and experienced caregivers understand what matters most: safety, dignity, and genuine connection. Families trust us because we treat their loved ones like our own.

Safety

Safety comes first, always. Our homes meet the highest standards for medical oversight and emergency preparedness, with trained nursing staff present to respond to any need.

Dignity

Dignity is never compromised. We respect each resident's independence, preferences, and personal history, treating them as individuals rather than cases.

Connection

Connection matters more than routine. Our small home setting allows caregivers to know residents deeply, to notice what brings them joy, and to respond with genuine care.

Family

We care like family because we mean it. Every decision we make is guided by the question, would we want this for our own grandmother or grandfather?

What Families are saying

"When my friend could no longer live on her own, we were blessed to find this adult family home. I cannot say enough nice things about her home. She is treated with such respect and kindness. I can walk in anytime and feel welcomed. The home is clean and comfortable. Birthdays and other big events are celebrated and friends and family are welcomed and encouraged to participate. The staff is qualified and caring. They are quick to respond to any of our concerns and let us know of any issues that should be taken care of. I can now sleep at night not worrying about my friends safety. We love TLC, the staff and all they do to make for a safe and happy home."

Testimonial praising A Happy Home for its excellent hospice care, friendly atmosphere, clean facilities, and trustworthy owners Traci and Valerie.
"A Happy Home truly operates their business like their name says. My mother was there for 18 months under Hospice care due to the wonderful care and very friendly atmosphere at A Happy Home. The staff is well trained and very responsive to the needs of the residents. Their home and facilities are clean and well cared for. The two owners, Traci & Valerie are very trustworthy and excellent to work with. You can tell they really care about the health and welfare of their residents. Not once did I ever have any issues with them and they were extremely timely in responding to any questions or needs that my mother or myself may have had. I would highly recommend their services. I felt lucky to find such a wonderful home to care for my Mother."

Five-star review by Susie S. praising the caring staff, clean home, good meals, and overall outstanding care at a residence for her sister.
My sister has been here for over a year. I am there often visiting. If I could rate it 100 stars, I would! The owner/nurses and aides are absolutely wonderfu!!! Every one of them! Very loving and caring. They treat my sister as if she was their own family. They take such excellent care. I wouldn't want her any place else. The house is beautiful, clean and always smells fresh. The bedrooms are nicely decorated. The sheets are colorful and pretty. Everything is quality. The fireplace in the living room is cozy. The whole house is very homey. The meals are very good and they pay attention to what the residents like. I could go on and on. This home is outstanding! I've asked to be put on the waiting list for when my time comes. :)

Questions

Find answers to common questions families ask when considering care options.

What is an adult family home?

An adult family home provides personalized care in a residential setting for a small number of residents. This allows for more individualized attention, a quieter environment, and a true home-like experience rather than an institutional facility.

At A Happy Home AFH, we provide 24/7 care for your loved one. This includes housing, meals, medication management, healthcare needs, physical activities, hair, nail, and podiatry needs, and many of the other basic in-home needs. We have caregivers on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How do I know if this is right?

Adult family homes work best for individuals who need daily support, supervision, or assistance with activities of daily living but prefer a smaller, more personal setting. If your loved one values dignity and meaningful connection, this may be the fit you're looking for.

What care services are offered?

We offer assistance with daily living activities, medication management, mobility support, and personalized care based on each resident's needs. Care plans are tailored and adjusted as needs change over time.

How does the process begin?

Simply complete our online intake form. Our team will contact you to discuss your loved one's needs and schedule a personal tour of the home.

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes. We encourage families to schedule a tour to meet our caregivers, see the home, and ask any questions before moving forward. There's no pressure, only honest conversation.

How long does the enrollment into an adult family home take?

If all the information is complete on the enrollment form and the required documents are received (discharge papers from hospital, Power of Attorney papers, medication list, nurse assessment, etc.), then the process goes very quickly and can often be put in place in the same day.

Can my loved one keep their current primary care provider?

All of our residents keep their Primary Care Provider. They can choose to use our on-call visiting physician if it is more beneficial for them.
